The SNCT strives to proactively publish information that may be of interest to the public. However, the SNCT is not a public body in terms of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002. Information deemed to be the property of the SNCT is not therefore covered by this legislation.

The Handbook came into effect on 1 August 2007 and replaces all previously issued SNCT Circulars.
It has been issued to LNCT Joint Secretaries.
